Our girl is 5.

Our little Annie turned 5 on Tuesday. We ran home from swimming lessons for presents and cupcakes before going to dinner at Cafe Rio and to see Cars 2. Her hair was barely dry when we put her crown on, but hectic and a little crazy is how our summer has been so far. I have thought a lot this year about all the qualities that are innately Annie. Annie loves people. She remembers their names and always wants to see or be with her friends and family. At dance class I have watched her go out of her way to include girls in her class that are feeling shy. She loves animals. Since we don't have any pets she treats her stuffed animals like they are real pets. When she sleeps over at her grandparents she brings her stuffed kittens into our room so they won't be scared and instructs me to feed them while she is gone. She's adventurous and always wants to know what we are doing next. She's sensitive and can cry so easily, but she's almost always happy. We love having this silly, smart, happy girl and we can only hope that she will always be as easy as her first five years have been.
