New York

Todd and I have been talking about going to New York together for years and last week we had the chance. Todd's parents were so great to watch our kids for five days while we we were away. We stayed at my Uncle Randy's in Brooklyn and my sister Amber decided to come at the last minute too. What an amazing trip we had.

Some of the highlights.

Soho-fabulous shopping and yummy food, we could have spent days there.

Moma-Loved seeing Rothcos, an enormous Monet (my favorite artist), and tons of Van Gough. I got in trouble for taking a picture of Starry Night with a flash. Ooops!

Peking Duck House- A restaurant in Chinatown where we had delicious Peking Duck. They bring out the whole cooked duck to your table so you can see it before they cut it up for you to eat. After this yummy dinner we walked a few blocks to little Italy and had Gelatto and desserts.

Church in Manhattan- We went to the manhattan first ward located in the same building as the temple. Walking in we immedietly felt like we were at home. Kids everywhere and the same feeling of the spirit. Loved it. Mitt Romney's son said the opening prayer.

F.A.O. Schwartz-Amazing toys and shopping for our kids. We had a blast.

Shake Shack-Next to my Uncle's office building, this hamburger place in the park had amazing food and the best caramel shake ever. So worth it even though we were freezing.

St. Patricks Day Parade-The city goes crazy for this Irish holiday. The parade was over thirty blocks long.

Shopping 5th Ave.-Loved it!

Late night Pinochle-After walking for hours in the city it was so nice to relax and play this family favorite.

Your trip sounds like so much fun! You probably went to Laurel's ward and didn't even know it! She always talks about the Shake Shack and how amazing it is too. Hopefully we'll see you this weekend sometime!

Hey Jen! It was fun hanging out last weekend. Amy Gasik just sent me a comment and put us on her favorites but I can't get into their blog. I think I need to be sent an invite? Will you tell her for me?

T & J,
So glad to see you two enjoying some time in the Big Apple. Reminds me of when me and Makenna went there for our first anniversary and later while we still lived in Boston. Always too much to do. Looks like life is going great for you and your family. I wish we lived a bit closer so we could see you and some of the other crew from time to time. If you ever decide to open a Lofgren's on the east coast, consider Charleston. It's a charming, beautiful, warm southern city.

Jason
