We started our weekend by going hiking up little cottonwood canyon.
We took our kids to the granite quarry trail where the pioneers used granite to build the Salt Lake temple.
Todd had to work Saturday so I looked on-line to find a pioneer activity to take the kids too. I found one in Provo. I'm all for a road trip to Provo. Todd gets agitated just entering the city limits.
They have tons of free activities for the kids to do like digging for gold.
Candle making, tee-pees, pioneer trek pouches, petting zoo, blacksmiths, and who runs all the amazing free exhibits? Missionaries. An Elder Johnson is helping Kai with the slingshot.
A hair school offered free braiding and Annie had to have her hair done. I had so many comments on it afterward.
We didn't get a chance to ride the ponies, but you can sit on this pony and have your picture taken.

They also had a covered wagon ride, food samples, and a lot more games. That night we watched our friends amazing fireworks show and raced to get snow cones before they closed.
